Abstract
A quasi-steady-state laser-GMAW hybrid welding simulation method was developed. The comprehensive effects of buoyancy, thermal capillary force, electromagnetic force and arc shear force were considered in the model, thus the temperature and flow fields characteristics of molten pool were obtained. At the same time, the heat source motion was realized based on the deformed geometry (DG) approach. The model can be applied to laser welding processes with different joint configurations or moving paths.
