I studied medicine at the Uludag University Faculty of Medicine, Bursa, Turkey, and became a specialist in Infectious Dis. and Clin. Microbiology at the same university in 1998. I did my MSc and PhD (1992-1997) at the Imperial College in London, UK. My main research interests are tolerance inducing gene and dendritic cell therapy, immunogenetics of diseases, immune mechanisms involved in transition of brucellosis into chronic form and recently, transfusion-related immune modulation.
