Simulation Modelling of Air Cushion Pressure Detector for Piggyback Transfer Robot

In this study, an air cushion pressure detector is proposed and applied to a piggyback transfer robot. The objective is to enhance comfort during the robot's operation and monitor the magnitude of care-receiver’s chest pressure. Initially, this paper proposes an air cushion structure and determine the comfortable internal pressure by comparative experiments. Numerical simulation of air cushion compression process is performed on this basis. Next, the pressure detector is fabricated utilizing the air cushion, gas pressure sensors, and strain acquisition modules. Finally, a BP neural network mapping model is established using the average internal pressure of the air cushion and the voltage value output from the strain acquisition modules as inputs and the external load as outputs. The proposed air cushion pressure detector can reduce the impact and pressure concentration, which can meet the need of the piggyback transfer robot.
