Abstract
The advent of fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks has significantly amplified the potential for Holographic Communication (HC) and Extended Reality (XR) due to their high-speed data transmission capabilities, which are essential for handling the extensive amounts of data necessary for realtime holographic projections and interactions. In response to the increasing demands of 3D interactive medical imaging, this article explores the feasibility of using 5G networks to transmit medical data, which is crucial in modern healthcare settings. The paper provides results on the capabilities of a Stand-Alone (SA) 5G private network, emphasizing its potential to improve the transmission of holography medical data. The study aims to evaluate the system performance of a 5G design employing an edge computing to decrease potential impairments on the backhaul between the radio and core networks.
