Abstract
The comprehensive quality of A. dahurica var. formosana planted in genuine producing area (Suining, China) is better than that of other regions (like Chongzhou). The formation of regional difference is related to the rhizosphere microbiome. Here, two main A. dahurica var. formosana cultivars (lines) were planted in two different soil types. We found that soil type affected the flavone and flavonol biosynthesis pathway of root exudates and the rhizosphere relative abundances of Proteobacteria, Burkholderiales and Pseudomonas. Confirmation through experiments in culture medium and soil, Pseudomonas could be “cultured” by a flavonoid compound linarin. These bacteria could activate nutrient availability. This may be the important reason that the soil available nutrients in Suining were lower, however the consumption of available nutrients and the plant growth was greater after planting. Together, in suitable soil, the A. dahurica var. formosana tends to assemble beneficial microbes by secreting more flavonoids to promote nutrient absorption. This study explained the microbiome reasons for the regionalization of industrial medicinal plants, and contributed to the high yield and quality planting of the crop from the perspective of soil microorganisms.
