摘要
Zinc metal has gained much attention due to its low redox potential, high theoretical capacity and high safety. However, its stability and service life are greatly affected by side reactions such as dendrites and corrosion. Here we propose a coating material derived from peanut erythrocyte biomass waste, which enables more uniform deposition of zinc ions on the surface of zinc foil, further reduces the charge transfer resistance and improves corrosion resistance, and extends the symmetric battery life to more than 650 h of cycling stability at a current density of 0.5 mA cm−2. In addition, the Zn-MnO2 full cell protected by the assembled coating material still possessed a capacity retention rate of 56.7 % much higher than that of the bare Zn cell (43.4 %) after 1000 cycles at a current density of 1 A/g. This work provides a broader application strategy for zinc anode protection of zinc-ion batteries by utilizing low-cost peanut red skin waste.
