Abstract
The paper proposed a method for evaluating the accuracy of the arrival time of the traveling wave first wave for single-phase grounding fault location in distribution networks to address the accuracy issue of the traveling wave location technology in engineering applications. This method is based on the time characteristics of the propagation of traveling waves generated by switch operations or faults in distribution lines. It extracts the arrival time data of the first wave of the traveling wave inferred by each terminal installed on the node of the distribution line after the generation of the traveling wave, and uses multi-source data and historical data for comprehensive analysis to propose evaluation indicators for the accuracy of judging the arrival time of the traveling wave. The engineering application has verified the feasibility and practicality of this method.
