Abstract
We demonstrate MagSurface, a manufacturing technology that prints spiral coil circuits onto paper. This technology utilizes the magnetic field generated by energized coils to interact with permanent magnets, thus adding motion effects to paper. This simple technique allows users to create a wide range of paper-based interactive interfaces. We have introduced an accessible and low-cost manufacturing process for conductive composites, which individuals can also follow through a detailed fabrication process. We demonstrate the design space for paper motion effects and present several application examples. Finally, we discuss the current limitations and future works.
