Abstract
The article reviews the existing automatic control system for electrical modes of ladle furnaces (LF). The control algorithm for the electrical mode of LF with adaptation to the mode of argon purging and slag mode using the slag coefficient is considered. It is noted that for the algorithm operation it is necessary to form a set of operating curves, providing the possibility of timely shortening of electric arc lengths depending on the influence degree of the liquid metal mirror on specific phases for different configurations of LF and different purging modes. The main disadvantages of this algorithm are formulated. As an elimination of the main disadvantage of the adaptation algorithm for the electric mode to the conditions of argon purging the application of a digital double is proposed. The improved control system of the ladle-furnace unit with application of the digital twin is developed. It is noted that the systems for setting the asymmetrical mode of arc burning and automatic switching of operating curves and tap changers of the furnace transformer are separated in this system and function in parallel with each other, which provides the flexibility of setting the electrical mode of the LF.
