With the rise of artificial intelligence, many applications can be envisaged to improve individual and collective animal health. They all rely on data that must be collected on a large scale. A survey was conducted to assess the knowledge, practices and perceptions of veterinarians with regard to health data in domestic carnivores. A total of 210 veterinarians responded. The results showed an interest in using the data collected via their professional software, although this is not widely used in practice. The veterinarians were also in favour of integrating the data into an epidemiological surveillance system targeting parvovirosis in particular. For the well-being and health of domestic carnivores, as well as for the economy of the sector and public health, it seems essential to initiate work aimed at the collective use of health data on dogs and cats.
