Construction of a light noise sensor for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Concilium(2024)
Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the construction of a light noise sensor for measuring and reducing noise in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study. The PSIU-N equipment was developed in a virtual environment simulated in MATLAB software. The PSIU-N equipment is an active control device to alert employees to excessive noise levels in the environment. To build the prototype, a schematic was made using the protheus software. Results and conclusion: The creation of the equipment was based on a sound pressure noise capture system, the tests were carried out in noisy environments. The results were satisfactory since the equipment is capable of generating reports and alerting employees efficiently about the level of noise in the environment.
