Mapping the Benefits of Faculty Development to International Research Partnerships

The Worcestershire freight strategy for reducing the environmental impact of heavy goods vehicle (HGV) movements on the road network in the UK is described. The county council developed a freight quality partnership (FQP) to address the regional, countrywide and local impacts of freight related issues. The development of the FQP in the Vale of Evesham is outlined. The FQP includes the Freight Transport Association, the Road Haulage Association, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and three districts. At county and district levels, measures to reduce the impact of HGV movement included development of a 'Lorry route map for Worcestershire' and the production of town centre local development maps. A table is presented showing progress with the Worcestershire LTP freight objectives.
