Abstract
This paper presents a full-vectorial finite-element 3D bidirectional beam propagation method (FVFE-3DBiBPM) for numerical analysis of THz dielectric waveguide components sandwiched by metal parallel plates. In order to consider conductor loss of parallel metal plates and reduce computational cost, we study on the FVFE-BiBPM using an impedance boundary condition (IBC). As a numerical example, we analyze propagation behavior of THz wave in a nonradiative dielectric waveguide (NRD guide) with an air-gap, and the numerical example shows the validity of the FVFE-BiBPM with the IBC.
