An ANOVA Based Analysis of Routing Techniques for Improving QoS in Flying Ad-Hoc Networks (FANETs)

The Flying ad-hoc network uses wireless communication for establishing the infrastructure-less, temporary network among the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). The dynamic formation of the FANET communication network necessitates an efficient routing strategy to manage the routing requirements in real-time. The data transmission between two UAVs may involve one or more intermediate relay devices to efficiently disseminate the data from the sender to the receiver. The reliability of the communication channel between two UAVs mainly depends on the trustworthiness of the selected intermediate relay device. This work presented an ANOVA-based analysis approach for improved routing in FANET. The efficacy of the various routing schemes is demonstrated by simulation experiments utilizing the network simulator (NS-2) under low-density and high-density traffic scenarios. The simulation results exhibit the comparative performance of various routing protocols in different network scenarios. Moreover, experimental outcomes demonstrate that the proposed ANOVA-based analysis method helps to provide effective routing schemes for the efficient communication process.
