摘要
Enhancing the electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction performance of Pt-group noble metal catalysts with appropriate promoters is crucial in hydrogen production. Ni-based nanomaterials, known for their corrosion resistance, water dissociation capabilities, and high intrinsic activity, are a popular choice for improving HER performance. A systematic review of the advancements in Ni-based electrocatalysts for HER is essential to further research and applications in this field. This review focuses on recent progress in utilizing Ni-based materials as promoters for HER, exploring their roles in water dissociation, microenvironment modification, and cocatalyst functions. Various Ni-based nanomaterials, including alloys, oxides, hydroxides, sulfides, and phosphides, are being considered for potential applications. The review also addresses challenges, future prospects, and provides insights for the ongoing development of this field.
