Abstract
The seismic safety of instruments is important. The vibration and seismic isolation methods for instruments have been widely explored. This study introduces an air-floating micro-vibration platform isolation system to improve the earthquake safety. Then, shaking table test on prototype platform were conducted. The acceleration mitigation effect has been validated. Through sliding and overturning evaluations, the safety of isolated instruments has been confirmed. Finally, a numerical study on a hospital building was performed. By comparing the floor spectra and instrument state, the effectiveness of the isolated platform in mitigating accelerations and improving safety was confirmed.
