Cooperative Reactive Power Configuration of Hybrid HVDC Transmission System for Offshore Wind Farm Clusters

Hybrid HVDC transmission is an effective way for long-distance transmission of offshore wind farm (OWF). Reactive power compensation should be allocated at the sending end of the OWF, which may include multiple offshore transformer stations and the rectifier station of the HVDC system. A cooperative reactive power configuration model is proposed for OWF clusters with hybrid HVDC transmission system in this paper. The objective is to ensure the voltage stability of the system under different operation scenarios, and minimize the cost of reactive power compensation devices. The simulated annealing algorithm (SAA) is used to solve the optimization model. Finally, the proposed method is verified in the case studies with multiple operation scenarios.
