Abstract
In this paper, a molecularly imprinted polymer/methylene blue/anodic aluminum oxide (MIP/MB/AAO) nanocomposite sensing electrode is presented for direct detection of troponin T (cTnT) in urine for the first time. By combining the unique characteristics of the direct redox reaction of the MB in urine and the high surface area of the AAO template, the nanocomposite electrode can exhibit a low limit of detection (LoD) of 13.02 pg/ml and high sensitivity of 8.75 ×10 –4 suitable for ultra-low concentration cTnT monitoring. Because the electrode has the advantages of cost-effective, rapid detection, direct and simple measurement, easy storage, etc., we believe it is adequate for the prediction of cardiac events via cTnT monitoring, thereby improving the quality of life of the patients requiring intensive care.
