摘要
Fibromyalgia (FM) is a pain syndrome with a high burden of morbidity and poorly understood etiology and pathogenesis. Significant quantities of data have now been accumulated indicating that FM has close and bidirectional associations with mental disorders and is also associated with certain personality characteristics which contribute to the severity of key somatic symptoms and generally influence the prognosis of the disease. This review presents results from current epidemiological and neurobiological studies, discusses the multi-level relationship between FM and mental disorders, and provides a brief review of approaches to the treatment of comorbidities.
