Misalignment Estimation in a Three-Phase Transverse-Pole DWPT System

An evaluation of the performance of a 50-kW three-phase dynamic wireless power transfer system over a range of transmitter-receiver alignments is used to establish a misalignment estimation/detection scheme. The scheme leverages the ratio of the positive- and negative-sequence receiver currents obtained from a time-domain simulation of the system to predict receiver location. Validation is performed using data from hardware experiments.
