The highly magnetic Bi2Fe4O9/rGO/g-C3N4 heterojunction composites driven by visible light and peroxydisulfate for tetracycline degradation

Synergistic removal of organic pollutants by photocatalysis and peroxydisulfate activation is a potential advanced oxidation combination technology. Therefore, it is of great significance to develop highly efficient photocatalysts driven by visible light and PDS. In this work, Bi 2 Fe 4 O 9 /reduced graphene oxide/g-C 3 N 4 (BFO/ rGO/CN) photocatalyst was successfully prepared to removal tetracycline. Under the excitation of visible light and PDS, the degradation efficiency of TC was 93.84 % within 40 min. Characterization analyses and photoelectric property tests showed that the successful synthesis of BFO/rGO/CN-10 promoted the charge transfer, and the photocatalytic degradation performance was enhanced under the coordination of PDS. The mechanism experiment further confirmed that multiple reactive species were generated during the degradation process. Additionally, the degradation process and intermediate products of TC were analyzed by 3D-EEMs and LC-MS. This study provides a theoretical reference for designing highly efficient heterojunction photocatalysts for PDS activation and visible light irradiation.
