Photocatalyst-free hydrothiolation of gem-difluoroalkenes with thiols

A photocatalyst-free hydrothiolation reaction of aromatic gem-difluoroalkenes was developed under the irradiation of blue light in dimethyl carbonate as a green solvent, leading to α,α-difluoroalkylthioethers in good yields.
