Abstract
Based on the coherent detection and modified constant modulus algorithm (MCMA), a 40 Gbit/s high-speed chaotic secure communication configuration is proposed and numerically investigated. The synchronized high-quality chaotic carriers between two response lasers can be achieved through chaotic optical injection generated by the driving laser, a dispersion component and a phase modulator. On the basis of chaotic synchronization and coherent detection method, we verify the feasibility of 40 Gb/s 16QAM message transmission over 400 km fiber in this proposed system. In addition, by means of the MCMA algorithm, the message transmission distance is further improved to 1300 km.
