Optical Fiber Displacement Sensor Array with Reduced Sampling Rate for Gravitational Reference Sensor

In this paper, an optical fiber interferometric displacement sensor array based on time division multiplexing (TDM) is proposed for translation and tilt metrology of gravitational reference sensor (GRS). To effectively reduce the sampling rate, a carrier signal extraction method based on non-uniform sampling is proposed and demonstrated. Experimental result reveals that the sampling rate of 65 MS/s is enough to demodulate the heterodyne carrier signal from a pulse with width of 10 ns, which is 15 times lower than the traditional sampling method.
