An NADH model (10-benzyl-9,10-dihydroacridine) enabled radical borylation of C(sp2)–X bonds

Arylboronates serve as crucial functional motifs and synthetic precursors, making the development of borylation reactions essential. In this study, we developed a photoinduced borylation reaction of aryl halides catalyzed by 10-benzyl-9,10-dihydroacridine (ACR-8). The present method can tolerate both aryl bromides and even inert aryl C-Cl, C-SPh, C-SO2Ph and C-NMe3Br as electrophiles, obviating the necessity for transition metal catalysts. Additionally, the reaction exhibits a broad substrate scope and can be scaled up to gram quantities.
