摘要
Nickel-based superalloys are the most often used superalloy. However, because of the huge heat created in the machining region, machining of this type of alloy is rather difficult. The current work focuses on the cooling of Nimonic- 80 A using dry, oil Low Quantity Lubrication (oLQL), nanofluid LQL (nLQL), and cryogenic N2LQL (cLQL). Taguchi's L-16 orthogonal array was employed in the experimental design. Experiments were conducted at three different feed (f) and cutting speed (Vc) levels, and turning parameters such as surface roughness (Ra), cutting temperature (T), flank wear (FW), and chip thickness (Tc) were studied. LN2 machining produced acceptable results in terms of excellent surface topography, reduced temperature, and reductions in tool wear and chip thickness. To distribute weights on the output, the criterion importance through inter-criteria correlation (CRITIC) methodology was used, and the Fuzzy VIKOR method was used to assess the significance of the alternatives. The results validate the "GREEN PROCESS" due to applicability of the cryogenic LN2 lubricating method.
