Belgrano in alto peru. historical and iconographic characterization of a military badge of the independence war from the casas grandes site (humahuaca department, jujuy)

In this note we present a metallic military badge found at the Casas Grandes site (Humahuaca Department, Jujuy, Argentina). After a careful cleaning and preemptive curation treatment, captions and iconographic motives on its front could be discerned, suggesting a link between this piece and a cavalry regiment created by Manuel Belgrano in 1813 for his expedition to the Alto Peru.
