Abstract
In the present study, two new mixed-ligand lanthanide coordination polymers with the chemical formulae of [Dy-2(MPIP)(2)(1,3-bdc)(3)](n)5nH(2)O (1) and [Dy-2(MPIP)(1,3-bdc)(3)](n) (2) have been successfully prepared under hydrothermal or solvothermal conditions via reaction of Dy(NO3)(3)6H(2)O with the N -donor ligand 2-(3-methylphenyl)imidazo(4,5-f)(1,10)-phenanthroline (MPIP ) in the presence of the carboxylic acid ligand benzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid (1,3-H(2)bdc). Their application values on trachoma were evaluated and the related mechanism was explored at the same time. Firstly, the bactericidal activity of the new compounds on Chlamydia trachomatis was evaluated by measuring the minimum bactericidal concentration. Then, the real time RT-PCR was conducted and the relative expression of the survival genes in the Chlamydia trachomatis was determined after compounds treatment.
