Voltage Stability Index(VSI)-Based Optimal Vehicle-to-Grid(V2G) Charging/Discharging Strategy in Radial Distribution System

As the concern for climate change increases, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions has emerged as a significant priority. Electrification in various sectors has become essential, and the global trend of increasing Electric Vehicle (EV) adoption, particularly in the transportation sector, aims at carbon dioxide reduction. Consequently, research on Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, which involves reversing power flow from EV batteries to the grid, has gained traction. However, integrating EVs into the grid for charging and discharging can lead to issues like voltage level violations. To prevent this, appropriate charging and discharging strategies must be employed to maintain optimal voltage levels. In this paper, when considering the application of V2G technology, an optimized charging and discharging strategy is proposed and the strategy is validated using the modified IEEE 37-bus test system.
