Abstract
This research work addresses the issue of water availability in the Biltine and surrounding areas in the Republic of Chad. The Biltine area is a hydrogeologically very complex zone with a very complex geology and water quality problems identified in the field but not characterised. The main objective is to identify potential recharge areas. This is based on different information related to recharge parameters through a multi-criteria approach using spatial references. The result of this work showed that the good recharge areas of Biltine cover 37% (strong and very strong recharge) and a weaker recharge area of 43% (weak to very weak recharge). This research work can contribute to the future location of boreholes and wells to provide water to the population and its surroundings.
