摘要
Recently, underwater wireless communication has drawn the attention of many researchers. There is a need to provide reliable and efficient communication in the underwater oceanic networks, especially to submarines, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), etc. Specifically, underwater wireless optical communication (UWOC) is a potential solution since it offers a high data rate, low latency, wide bandwidth, less attenuation, and energy efficiency in an underwater scenario. This paper analyzes the performance of direct-current biased optical coherent orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DCO-OFDM) based UWOC system under varying underwater channel conditions. The simulation results are reported in terms of performance metrics such as received optical power and bit error rate (BER) under the effect of different types of water, underwater depths, and field of view (FoVs) of the receiver. Simulation results show that the proposed DCO-OFDM-based UWOC systems can significantly improve underwater wireless communication network performance.
