Design of Multi-Band Terahertz Absorber with Close-Spaced Characteristic

Abstract
A terahertz frequency selective surface (FSS) with a six-band absorption is proposed. The structure which mainly consists of a loss layer at the top and an all-metal plate separated by a dielectric layer at the bottom has six close-spaced absorption bands at 0.88, 1.12, 1.56, 1.88, 2.16 and 2.42THz in the terahertz waves. All the peak absorbance is above 85%. Moreover, the minimum adjacent band ratio is 1.12. In addition, the proposed structure has good polarization stability. This multi-band absorber with close-spaced characteristic will be of great significance in the terahertz (THz) field.
