Design of RF Module for a Compact Vector Signal Transceiver

A highly integrated RF (Radio Frequency) board for wideband vector signal transceivers is developed in this paper. In a size of only 292.7mm $\times $ 166mm $\times $ 19.7mm, this RF module integrates a transceiver channel and a frequency synthesizer. Based on the double-conversion superheterodyne architecture, the received power of $-40 \sim + 30$dBm and the transmitted power of $95 \sim + 10$dBm are achieved in the RF frequency range of $0.4 \sim 7.3$ GHz. The measured results show that the EVM (Error Vector Magnitude) of the receiving and transmitting channels can reach 44.69dB and -44.88dB respectively under the RF frequency of 6.25GHz and bandwidth of 400MHz.
