Abstract
Floating solar photovoltaic system (FSPV) refers to the evolution of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems installed on water bodies as a result of improvements in ground mounted solar photovoltaics (GMSPV) system. In this paper, different techno-economic parameters for proposed FSPV-grid integrated and GMSPV-grid integrated systems are compared for the two subsections of a steel plant located in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. The entire system has been simulated in HOMER energy software and the obtained results shows that the FSPV-grid integrated system has a great potential for the industries located near water bodies, despite of its high initial cost. However, grid purchase are less in case of FSPV-grid integrated system with more energy sold back to grid.The rate of return also found reduced in case of FSPVgrid integrated system.
