Abstract
In this paper, we study the joint transmit waveform and receive filter design for massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) dual-function radar-communication (DFRC) sys-tems with one-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs)/analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). Specifically, we first formulate commu-nication quality of service (QoS) requirements with one-bit DACs and unveil the radar detection behaviour after the quantization of one-bit ADCs. Further, we propose to maximize the radar detection performance, while ensuring the communication QoS requirements. To tackle the resulting non-convex problem, an alternating optimization based algorithm is derived. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed schemes and show the potential of adopting one-bit DACs/ADCs in practice.
