Simulation of Semi-Active Radar System for Using 5G Illumination Signal

Recently, the 5G mobile communication system has developed rapidly. Semi-active radars using 5G signal as light sources have received a lot of interest. 5G networks enable the development of semi-active high-resolution radar systems with very good coverage at low altitudes and in relatively small areas. 5G signals are designed to operate in specific operating bands and have relevant characteristics. The article describes the principles of semi-active radar, and the theoretical foundations of the structure of the downlink of the 5G signal in the n79 band. In addition, the results of the simulation of semi-active radar signal processing using 5G light sources are shown.
