Exploring Healthcare Providers' Perspectives on Extended Reality Technologies for Sustainable Healthcare: A Twitter Analysis

This study explores healthcare providers' perspectives on extended reality (XR) technologies for sustainable healthcare through comprehensive Twitter analysis. Leveraging the Twitter API V2, tweets related to mixed reality, extended reality, virtual reality, and augmented reality were collected from December 31, 2016, to August 16, 2022. Using the Go-emotions dataset, BERT for emotion and sentiment analysis, to have insights into healthcare providers' sentiments, emotions, and key themes on extended reality were uncovered. The interdisciplinary nature of this research contributes nuanced insights into the dynamic landscape of healthcare providers' perceptions and offers practical implications for the integration of extended reality technologies in sustainable healthcare practices. This understanding is instrumental for navigating the evolving intersection of technology and healthcare, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic planning.
