Abstract
Metal halide perovskites have drawn significant attention due to their exceptional optical properties, and recent developments in the field have established them as a primary subject for comprehensive research. Perovskites have been widely applied in optoelectronic devices such as light emitting diodes, solar cells, lasers, and photodetectors due to their favorable optical and electrical characteristics encompassing a narrow emission peak, high optical absorption coefficient, high carrier mobility, and a long carrier diffusion length. Meanwhile, their cost-effective fabrication further contributes to their popularity in these applications. An essential aspect of creating outstanding optoelectronic devices lies in understanding the refractive index, which is crucial because it is related to the reflection, transmission, and trapping of light in perovskite films. Herein, we explore the influence of refractive index on optoelectronic devices and examine the methods employed for light management. This review provides valuable insights into the realm of perovskite optoelectronic research.
