Abstract
The mechanical vibration-assisted piezoelectric catalytic water splitting for hydrogen production is a promising approach to address the energy crisis. However, most piezoelectric catalysts used for hydrogen production are limited by their high cost, low stability, and unsatisfactory hydrogen production rates. To overcome these problems, we employed a co-catalyst (CdSe) to enhance the catalytic performance of SrBi4Ti4O15. Notably, the composite catalyst achieved a hydrogen production rate of 21 mmol g(-1) h(-1), which is 10 times higher than that of pure SrBi4Ti4O15. This catalyst has the advantages of a high hydrogen production rate, good stability, and low cost, providing a more effective method for the design and synthesis of piezoelectric catalysts for water-based hydrogen production and laying a foundation for large-scale piezoelectric catalytic water splitting for hydrogen production in the future.
