Abstract
Amount of alpha-escin and beta-escin in cosmetic cream formulations were determined by simple reverse phase HPLC method by using the C18 column at 220 nm. The mobile phase is composed of acetonitrile-water (60:40) at pH 2.4. The method validation study was carried out based on the ICH recommendations and linear regression equations were determined as y=1548.3x+340.7 and y=1521.3x-91.9, for the analytes, respectively. While LOD values of the method were determined for alpha-escin and beta-escin as 0.003 mu g/mL and 0.027 mu g/mL, LOQ values were determined as 0.01 mu g/mL and 0.08 mu g/mL, respectively.
