Electrochemical and Photocatalysis Properties of Bi0.5(Na0.9K0.1)0.5TiO3 Based Ceramics

Bi-0.5(Na0.9K0.1)(0.5)TiO3 was fabricated using solid state rection route. Samples were sintered at 1150 degrees C/2 hr. Phase formation was confirmed using X-Ray diffraction and microstructure was studied by using Scanning Electron Microscopy. Uniform well shaped grains of 1-4 micron were observed. Band gap was observed of 3.19 eV which is in UV range. Poled and unpoled sample surfaces were examined using a resazurin-based photocatalyst indicator ink. Clear difference was observed in performance which conclude that electric poling has drastic impact on photocatalysts performance
