Dynamic emissive supramolecular polyrotaxanes with aggregation-induced emission property
TETRAHEDRON LETTERS(2024)
Abstract
The design and application of advanced functional materials based on pillar[5]arene derivatives have recently garnered significant attention in the field of supramolecular materials. Herein, we report a series of supramolecular polyrotaxanes based on different pillar[5]arene derivatives, namely Z16-18, Z20, and Z22, which are constructed through host-guest mediated quadruple hydrogen bonding interactions. Owing to the dynamic nature of these hydrogen bonding interactions, precise manipulation of host-guest chemistry enables the fabrication of both emissive and non-emissive polyrotaxanes. Notably, the emission response of polyrotaxane Z22 is solvent-dependent, making it a promising material for supramolecular applications due to its aggregationinduced emission (AIE) characteristics.
