Insight into the anti-corrosion mechanism of crop waste Arachis L. leaf extract for in sulfuric acid medium

In this study, discarded Arachis hypogaea L. leaf was used as raw material, pure water was used as medium, and Arachis hypogaea L. leaf extract (AHLLE) was acquired by means of decoction. The inhibition efficiency of AHLLE was deeply explored by experimental and theoretical calculation methods in Cu/H2SO4 system. The findings indicate that the four active ingredients in AHLLE have low energy gap values. Therefore, it exist the opportunity to be used as an efficient corrosion inhibitor. The findings of morphology analysis demonstrate that substantial reduction in copper surface corrosion when AHLLE is adsorbed at various temperatures. The results of the electrochemical tests shown that by immersing the copper electrode in a H2SO4 medium and introducing varying concentrations of AHLLE, inhibition efficiency exceeding 95% is achieved. According to the adsorption isotherm fitting model analysis, the adsorption behaviour of AHLLE onto the copper electrode adheres to the single -layer adsorption of Langmuir.
