摘要
A novel scheme is proposed for constructing binocular near-eye displays for augmented reality (AR) using the Maxwellian view and computer-generated hologram technology. The aim is to provide parallax holographic images with a large depth of focus for both eyes. This is achieved by employing a phase-only spatial light modulator to generate two holographic axicon phases. By utilizing the proposed holographic AR, based on the Maxwellian near-eye display method, the issue of vergence-accommodation conflict can be effectively eliminated. Additionally, the eyebox range of the proposed AR can be further expanded by implementing the eye tracking method to shift the focusing of the axicon phases. To showcase the feasibility of this AR near-eye display, a prototype system is developed, offering a virtual stereoscopic three-dimensional display in conjunction with the real world.
