•-PI films textured with laser and treated with O2 and CF2 plasmas to enhance surface properties.•-PI films surface hydrophilicity & hydrophobicity changed tremendously via plasma gas treatment.•-Contact angel & and Surface free Energy, kinetic friction values of PI films altered drastically.•-Attachment of P. aeruginosa on PI films decreased with surface modifications.
