摘要
Power electronics devices like the distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) have been developed as a result of the rapid rise in load growth, cost of power generation, and power loss. In order to solve these issues, it is also crucial that these devices are allocated and sized properly. For determining the best position and rating of the DSTATCOM in this regard, population-based metaheuristic algorithms are shown to be extremely effective. The zebra optimisation algorithm (ZOA), a well-known metaheuristic algorithm, is used in this study to determine the best position and rating for a DSTATCOM while minimising the total real power loss (TORPL) in a 69-bus distribution system. Additionally, different techniques are used to confirm the effectiveness of the established ZOA in order to achieve the highest attainable percentage reduction in TORPL value.
