High-Throughput Measurement of the Composition-Dependent Interdiffusivity Matrices of fcc Cu-Al-Co-Cr-Fe-Ni Systems

The diffusion behavior of Cu/Ni, Cu/Ni-2.0 Al-6.5 Co-1.5 Cr, and Cu/Ni-21.0 Cr-9 Fe diffusion couples was studied by combining solid–solid single-phase diffusion couples and a numerical inverse method at 1273 K. The composition-dependent interdiffusion coefficients were determined from the concentration profiles measured by electron probe microanalysis and were validated. The order of interdiffusion coefficients in the CuNiAlCoCrFe system is D̃_CrCr^Ni > D̃_AlAl^Ni > D̃_FeFe^Ni > D̃_CoCo^Ni > D̃_CuCu^Ni . The order of impurity diffusion coefficients of Al, Co, Cr, Fe, and Ni in Cu was also extrapolated from interdiffusion coefficients on the boundary, and the influence of atomic size on impurity diffusion coefficients was analyzed.
