Comparison between the Electrical Parameters of High Voltage Supercapacitor Cells

Nowadays, the supercapacitor plays a crucial role in the storage and generation of electrical energy. It also serves as an effective solution for renewable energy storage. Against the backdrop of the energy crisis, more emphasis is being placed on developing and improving components that maximize charge storage, ensure long life, and deliver energy on demand. Based on its capabilities, the supercapacitor appears to meet all of these requirements and be a viable alternative to other electrical charge storage devices on the market. Recent research in this area has focused on improving the parameters of supercapacitors, especially by increasing the maximum working voltage of a single cell. In this paper, we present a comparative study of the parameters of supercapacitor cells with increased voltage (above 2.5 V) made with different types of electrolytes and activated carbon-based electrodes. For this study, 6 supercapacitor cells with 3 types of electrolytes (2 cells each) were fabricated and tested.
