Research on High Temperature Ground Test Technology of the Civil Aircraft Variable Frequency Generator

with more and more electrical equipment, the rated capacity of the generator increases greatly, which puts forward higher requirements for the heat dissipation of large capacity generator. In this paper, the heat dissipation performance verification of civil aircraft variable frequency generator is studied. Due to the stringent requirements of the high temperature ground test environment, the aircraft generator heat dissipation test needs a suitable test time and test place, which makes the test very difficult to carry out. To support the high temperature test carried out on the ground, make full use of the existing test data, this paper main work is as follows: Firstly, based on the performance parameters of the generator under normal temperature, the oil temperature estimation model of the high temperature generator is established; Secondly, based on the cooling requirements of power plant components in transport airworthiness Clause 25.1041, Clause 25.1043 and Clause 25.1045, the high temperature ground test method of civil aircraft generator is given. Finally, taking the high temperature ground test of a type of aircraft variable frequency generator as an example, the aircraft high temperature ground test is carried out. The test results show that the estimation error of the generator high temperature oil temperature model is less than 3.99%. The designed test method is reasonable and effective, and the heat dissipation performance of the generator meets the design requirements, which can verify the conformity of the civil aircraft high-capacity variable frequency generator to the airworthiness standard under the harshest environment. The estimation model and the test method have certain guiding significance for the follow-up high temperature design verification of civil aircraft variable frequency generator.
