Ultrawideband Sub-Terahertz Transmitted Beam Steering Via Current-Reversal Encoding Metasurfaces

As research on 6G communication systems advances, the design of a facile-to-fabricate and high-performance terahertz beam steering device becomes increasingly pivotal. Through numerical simulations, we propose a diode-controlled current-reversal encoding metasurface for ultrawideband transmitted beam steering. The most salient feature of the proposed meta-device is the ultrawideband phase shift 180±10° over the full W band of 75110 GHz, begetting digital beam steering with a wide angular range over ±70°. This device meets the requirements for wide-ranging, high-speed beam scanning and holds promise for applications in 6G communication systems.
